These are amendments made to the Customs Regulations 2019 [P.U. (A) 397/2019] by the Customs (Amendment) Regulations 2023, pursuant to section 142 of the Customs Act 1967 [Act 235]:
The Regulations are deemed to have come into operation on 1 January 2023.
Sub-regulation 7(1) is amended to replace the reference to "Form Customs No. 10 in the Third Schedule" with "the form and manner as determined by the Director General".
Regulation 8 is amended to replace the reference to "Form Customs No. 11 in the Third Schedule" with "the form and manner as determined by the Director General".
Regulation 9(1) is amended to require the submission of an inward or outward manifest, or a transhipment manifest, for every vessel, aircraft, or freight forwarder, in the form and manner as determined by the Director General.
Regulation 11 is deleted.
Sub-regulation 12(1) is amended to replace the reference to "Form Customs No. 3 in the Third Schedule" with "a declaration in the form and manner as determined by the Director General".
Regulation 13 is deleted.
Regulation 14 is deleted.
Regulation 15 is deleted.
Regulation 16 is amended to replace the reference to "Form Customs No. 2 in the Third Schedule" with "the form and manner as determined by the Director General".
Sub-regulation 17(1) is amended to replace the reference to "Form Customs No. 8 in the Third Schedule" with "the form and manner as determined by the Director General".
Regulation 19 is substituted to require the submission of a declaration in the form and manner as determined by the Director General by the owner, agent, licensed carrier, or any person approved by the Director General under section 35G of the Act to move goods in transit and transhipment through the principal customs area.
Regulation 20 is amended to allow submission of a declaration in the form and manner determined by the Director General by a licensed carrier or any person approved by the Director General under section 35G of the Act.
Sub-regulation 21(1) is amended to replace the reference to "Form Customs No. 8 in the Third Schedule" with "the form and manner as determined by the Director General".
Sub-regulation 22(1) is amended to correct a typographical error.
Regulation 23 is amended to correct a typographical error and delete the word "form" in subparagraph (a)(i).
Regulation 26 is amended to replace the reference to "Form JKDM No. 1 in the Third Schedule" with "the form and manner as determined by the Director General".
