Do you know what is the specified retirement age in Malaysia?

What should an employer do if the employment contract is silent on the employee’s retirement age

Prior to the coming into operation of the Minimum Retirement Age Act 2012, an employer could impose any retirement age that it deemed fit in its employment contracts, subject only to the employee’s agreement upon employment.

These Guidance Notes for Employers Handling Retirements describe the current statutory procedure, which has been in effect from 1 July 2013.

在2012年最低退休年龄法令(Minimum Retirement Age Act 2012)生效之前,雇主可以在其雇佣合同中规定其认为合适的任何退休年龄,只需在雇佣时得到雇员的同意。
