The Minister has made a Gazette Order to exercise the powers conferred by subsection 11(1) of the Customs Act 1967 [Act 235].
The order is titled "Customs Duties (Goods of ASEAN Countries Origin) (ASEAN Harmonised Tariff Nomenclature and ASEAN Trade in Goods Agreement) (Amendment) (No. 2) Order 2023".
It will come into operation on 1 April 2023.
The amendment relates to the Second Schedule of the Customs Duties (Goods of ASEAN Countries Origin) (ASEAN Harmonised Tariff Nomenclature and ASEAN Trade in Goods Agreement) Order 2022 [P.U. (A) 199/2022].
Specifically, in relation to subheadings 2404.12.10 00, 2404.12.90 00, 2404.19.20 00, 2404.92.10 00, 2404.92.90 00 and 2404.99.00 00, in columns (5), the word "5" will be substituted with the word "0".
