Application for Approval as a Company Auditor

To apply for audit approval, the applicant needs to follow these steps:

1. Register as an individual in the Business Licensing Electronic Support System (BLESS) by visiting https://www.bless.gov.my/bless/.
2. Apply for audit licence approval through BLESS.
3. Provide Certified True Copies of all relevant certificates and a valid Practising Certificate.
4. Attach a sponsor letter that fulfils the following conditions:
   1. The sponsor should be an approved company auditor holding a valid Company Auditor Approval Certificate.
   2. The sponsor should have previously worked with the applicant and can verify the applicant’s audit experience (including hours spent on audits, supervision hours, and level of audit involvement) and assess whether the applicant is suitable and qualified (fit & proper).
   3. The sponsor letter should adhere to the prescribed format the Accountant General (AG) specified.
   4. If the current sponsor’s verification cannot meet the minimum required audit experience hours, an additional sponsor letter from another sponsor who can verify the applicant’s audit experience must be included.
   5. Relevant supporting documents that can verify the details mentioned in the sponsor letter should be provided.
5. Pay RM500/- using the e-payment module after passing the interview session.
6. The processing of auditors’ approval typically takes one to two months.
7. The Accountant General’s Department of Malaysia will inform the applicants about the interview two weeks in advance.
8. Successful applicants will receive the approval letter within fourteen working days from the interview date.
